Lord Leatherdale is a very interesting stallion from the very best that "Westphalian" breeding has to offer. He possesses renewable blood building qualities that are so greatly desired by KWPN breeding.
His father is the "Bundeschampionat" winner (2005) and reserve "World champion "(2005) Lord Loxley. His mother, the black beauty, Fairless P, was Siegerstute at the age of 2 and is a State Premium mare from Ferragamo (Freigraf - Furioso II). Grandmother Alma (Anmarch - Angelo xx) was amongst others mother of the approved Westphalian "landesbeschäler": "Lafon" (v.Laurentianer). Angelo xx is of course world renowned as the father of amongst others: Ahlrich, Amon and as grandfather (on the mother side) of amongst others Rubinstein and Rembrandt.
His performance report:
"Lord Leatherdale is an honest, diligent and reliable stallion with a good attitude. The stallion is very willing to work. Lord Leatherdale has extremely good talent as dressage horse".
"Lord Leatherdale is an honest, diligent and reliable stallion with a good attitude. The stallion is very willing to work and allows being worked. Lord Leatherdale has extremely good talent as dressage horse".
In the autumn of 2007 Lord Leatherdale fathered a group of super descendants: Quote from KWPN report: A unified collection of riding type foals, of a good rectangular model. The trot is uphill. In motion the foals have excellent body use. Lord Leatherdale is a stallion with a very promising future, both for sport and breeding.
He continues to be developed in sport and is showing incredible talent for the FEI work. In addition, Lord Leatherdale has been a very popular breeding stallion and his offspring are already bringing him notice. In the fall of 2007, Lord Leatherdale's first offspring were evaluated by the KWPN officials with very positive feedback. The foals as a whole showed a very uniform type with a good rectangular model. They moved well using their whole body and offered a naturally uphill trot.
In 2010 the Lord Leatherdale son Chippendale, out of a Negro daughter, took part in the KWPN spring Performance Test. The judges noted his beautiful front end and expressive canter for which they awarded him a ‘9' and gave Lord Leatherdale his first KWPN approved son. That same year, Danish Olympic Team rider Andreas Helgstrand purchased the 3-year old Cyrano (Lord Leatherdale-Negro-Carthago) at the EFS Sport Horse Auction. In 2011, Lord Leatherdale's oldest offspring turned 4 years old. Three placed in the Top Ten of the Pavo Cup competition, the most of any sire, and Chippendale finished fourth overall.
Lord Leatherdale offspring continue to garner attention in Europe and in the US. He had offspring competing at both the World Championships for Young Horses and in the US Young Horse National Championships. Dilona finished 3rd at the US National Championships and tied for 1st in the USDF Horse of the Year standings. In Holland, Everdale was named Champion of his KWPN Stallion Performance Test.
