A pinto stallion with a special personality

A harmonious silhouette, good size, an elastic sequence of movements in all gaits, a jumper willing to perform, even when the odds are up and, of course, his especially interesting color. Sanyo was the center of attention twice on the Vechta auction stage: First at the Elite Foal Auction in 2003 where he caused furious bidding and again, two years later, as a freshly licensed young stallion who brought the second highest price at the Stallen Market during the 2005 Oldenburg licensing, selling for 110,000 Euros. In 2006 he passed his 30-day test in Prussendorf and in 2008 the 70-day test in Neustadt/Dosse. He has won and placed in novice (A) level tests for young show jumpers.

Strong moving and strong type foals from Sanyo's first crop, many of them pintos, were awarded premiums by several Verbands.

His sire, Semper, was the 1997 Champion Stallion of the Pinto Verband. A son of Sandro, who competed in sport up to advanced (S) level, and grandson of the well-known pinto, Samber (who competed in dressage and show jumping up to advanced (S) level), he proved to be a good sire, presenting many champion foals at various shows. He is also the sire of Special Design, Semper Idem GH and Sempatico M (USA) who are also licensed. His dam, Morena, competed in dressage. Her half-brother, Sommersby (by Strohmann xx) placed in medium (M) level show jumping classes.

The strong moving dam's sire, Pablo (today in USA) was a colorful stallion personality in young years, winning tests for young jumpers in series and successfully participating in the Bundeschampionat. In 1992 he was awarded the I-b main premium on the basis of the good results at his stallion performance test and his good first crop. The performance records of his offspring put him near the top of the list in the FN's predicted breeding value statistics. Through the Furioso II son, Feingau (Reserve Champion of the performance test), and the Oldenburg Champion Stallion, Admirand (also the sire of the unforgotten Fiorella Queen who sold for the record breaking price of 200,000 D-Mark in 1982 in Vechta), the pedigree has been shored up from all sides for performance and rideability since these sires were known for passing on riding horse qualities in particular. A three-quarter sister of the great granddam, Burgmaid, is the Admirano daughter, Burgfrau, who won ribbons in dressage up to Intermediaire I. Their half-sister, Birgitt (by Uruguay), was bred to Cordalmé Z which resulted in the medium (M) level show jumper, Charly Brown. Through the 4th generation dam, Burgfee, by the former Oldenburg Champion Stallion, King, this mare family goes back to the Burgherrin III daughter, Burgfräulein (by the Adonis xx son, Arno), whose son Makalo (by Makuba xx) successfully competed in show jumping as well as dressage up to medium (M) level. The rather limited Oldenburg line of Burgherrin (by Fürstenstein-Oberon-Mandus-Remmer-Sachs) produced a good number of sport horses that competed in show jumping as well as dressage up to advanced (S) level.

Licensed for Oldenburg, DPZV, the European Pinto Verband (ECHA/ESV) as well as ZfdP.
